Goliad ISD students embarked on an exciting educational journey Wednesday, to the HNTB San Antonio Office for their annual "HNTB For A Day" engineering field trip.
This immersive experience provided students with firsthand exposure to the world of civil engineering and infrastructure development.
Throughout the day, students actively engaged with HNTB engineers, participating in discussions and hands-on demonstrations across all three engineering disciplines. The rotating session format allowed every student to experience design, construction and environmental planning perspectives while building connections with practicing professionals.
The experience culminated with a "Build-A-Bridge" competition, where students applied newly learned engineering principles through collaborative team-based design and construction. HNTB provided exceptional hospitality with breakfast, Chick-fil-A lunch, branded swag, and concluded with a group photo.
This field trip successfully exposed Goliad ISD students to diverse engineering career paths, real-world STEM applications, and professional work environments. Students returned with enhanced understanding of engineering specializations and expanded career horizons, exemplifying the value of industry-education partnerships in inspiring the next generation of engineers.
