Tiger JV continues to overcome with win over George West

The Goliad Junior Varsity Tigers defeated George West JV 9-3 on Friday thanks to five runs in the second inning. 

Tristen Schmidt and Conner Maroney each had RBIs in the frame.

George West JV fired up the offense in the first inning.  Number 15 singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

The Tigers pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second, Tristen Schmidt drew a walk, scoring one run and Maroney drew a walk, scoring one run.

Kolton Russell was on the mound for the Tigers. The pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Tracer Schendel, Bryton Stoebner, Caden and Amoni Washington each collected one hit to lead Goliad.

Rosenquest scores homerun in Varsity gamae against GW

Goliad Varsity Tigers lost the lead late in a 5-3 defeat to George West. The game was tied at three when the Longhorns took the lead in the 7th.

Colby Rosenquest was on the pitcher's mound for the Tigers. Rosenquest surrendered four runs on four hits over six and a third innings, striking out 14 and walking one.  Leighton Wunsch threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

The Tigers launched one home run on the day. Rosenquest had a long ball in the third inning to put Goliad up up 3-2.

Goliad racked up five hits on the day. Andrew Alonzo and Kolton Duval each managed multiple hits for the Tigers.
