Tigerettes earn win over Mathis

Goliad Tigerettes Varsity weathered a scare by Mathis in the fifth inning Thursday when Goliad coughed up three runs, but the team still won 7-5. 

Angelina Hernandez and Aliyah Montemayor each drove in runs during the inning.

Goliad Tigerettes Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Kieyah Garcia drew a walk, scoring one run.

Morgan Young led things off in the circle for Goliad Tigerettes Varsity. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out five.

Alyssa Herrera was in the pitcher's circle for Mathis. Herrera surrendered seven runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out five.

Goliad Tigerettes Varsity collected nine hits. Addison Brock and Daryn Schutz each racked up multiple hits for Goliad Tigerettes Varsity. Brock led Goliad Tigerettes Varsity with three hits in three at bats.
