The Goliad Tigerettes Varsity weathered a push by Odem Monday in the sixth inning where the Tigerettes coughed up four runs, but still won 11-5.
Odem offense in the inning was led by J Huerta, A Bray, B Salazar, and B Salinas, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
The Tigerettes got things started in the first inning when Shiyla Schmidt tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The team scored four runs in the fourth inning. Morgan Young, Mady Kramer and Ryleigh Glass each drove in runs during the inning.
Young led things off in the pitcher's circle for the Tigerettes. The pitcher lasted seven innings, allowing 10 hits and five runs while striking out five.
A. Santellana led things off on the rubber for Odem. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing three hits and two runs. Bray threw five innings out of the bullpen.
The Tigerettes smacked one home run on the day. Daryn Schutz had a long ball in the sixth inning.
The Tigerettes tallied 14 hits in the game. Addysen Brock, Schutz, Young and Schmidt all had multiple hits for Goliad Tigerettes Varsity. Schutz and Brock all had three hits to lead the Tigerettes. The team didn't commit a single error in the field. Jesielah McGilbra had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
