Goliad Varsity Baseball gets home tournament opening win against Karnes City this morning.
Kolton Duval showed timely hitting on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead Goliad Varsity Tigers past Karnes City Badgers 11-1.
Duval drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the second, and a double in the fourth.
The Tigers secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. Duval and Aramis Garza all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in that inning.
Phin Wallek earned and outstanding victory for Goliad on the mound. The pitcher went four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out eight and walking zero.
Goliad scattered eight hits in the game. Duval, Colby Rosenquest, and Garza each collected multiple hits for the Tigers. Duval went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Tigers in hits.
