Odem wins 100th straight district game

Head volleyball coach Jess Odem made history Friday afternoon with the Tigerettes’ 100th straight district win.

The Goliad High team took on George West that afternoon knowing a win would secure this milestone for their coach and the team.

They swept the Lady Horns (25-16, 25-8, 25-11.)

“I would like to express my appreciation for everyone's support,” Odem said. “It has not always been easy, but I have been blessed to coach some pretty amazing athletes in the past 11 years that have helped make this program so successful.

"We set high goals and standards every year and we all do our best to make sure the team works together in reaching those goals.”

The last district game that Odem and the Tigerettes lost was in 2014. In the 8-1/2-year stretch, Odem has only lost three sets dominating the competition 297-3.
