Dear GISD families,Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year. We are excited to engage, elevate and empower our students and staff as partners with the entire Goliad community to make this the best year yet at Goliad schools. Our focus will be on providing a safe and supportive experience filled with Tiger pride.A safe and healthy learning atmosphere is our top priority. A few of our key health and safety initiatives include: GISD partnered with Goliad County Sheriff's Department and Department of Public Safety to enhance campus safety and response time with additional supplies, training, and law enforcement presence GISD expanded the Guardian program for more coverage on campuses GISD upgraded and added additional internal and external security cameras at all campuses GISD supported a partnership for a pilot citizens Cub Watch for external safety checks GISD updated communication methods and platforms for faster communication GISD will continue to frequent disinfecting of classroom and common areas GISD has increased training for staff on mental health awareness and supports GISD partners with the American Heart Association for student and employee wellness programs GISD updated cafeteria menus with new recipes to support healthy eating and expanded choices GISD contacted with Communities in Schools for full time site coordinators for student support.GISD is dedicated to partnering with each family for each student. Please make sure your child is at school each day, unless ill. Our teachers don't want to miss one minute educating your child.
